Inclusive Economic Development

OPTIMUM's economic development work supports and encourage Palestinian market and business enterprise models to create jobs, fuel income growth and improve the quality of life in the region. Our work supports inclusive economic growth that leaves no one behind and considers the policies effects on different groups. Our work supports NGOs, CSOs, and entrepreneurs who seek to bring growth to the community in effective and sustainable ways. We have extensive experience and expertise within the occupied Palestinian territories and the region, enabling us to help our clients focus their strategies and drive systematic change. 

We were engaged in evaluating on the Trade Diversification/ Competitiveness Enhancement Program, as well as the National Export Strategy, trade corridors and sector strategies implemented by PALTRADE. We also worked with projects to support SMEs and MSMEs in developing their work and worked with NGOs to provide end of program evaluations, sustainability plans, market analysis, as well developing business plans that respond innovatively to market opportunities and improve organizational effectiveness. 

We have conducted labour market surveys to identify market demands of the labour force and skills needed for private sector development. We also conducted 4 Studies of the Economic Opportunities in Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Nablus Governorate including the South, middle and North of the West Bank on behalf of GIZ and LET council. 

Our consultants include economic analysts who write regular articles in local newspapers and are interviewed on both radio and TV, analysing the economic situation of the oPt, including articles on the effect of taxation and government policies on the private sector and its social impact on the society at large. Our Team Leader, Dr. Tawfiq Nassar was also, at one stage, part of the private sector prime negotiators team with the Palestinian Prime Minister and Finance Minister. His Ph.D. investigated the future of the Palestinian economy: the role of aid.
